Warm Weather Brings Spiders

by the_real_linda @ Monday, Mar. 31, 2008 - 14:27:47

What the frickin frack is up with all the spiders.... ooh it gets a little nicer, a little hotters and then its bugs paloozer!

The other night we were had just sat down to a nice chinese meal and i saw a HUGE spider coming at me from the back of the television. I didnt say "oh look mum there be a spider".... or scream or shriek... no, not miss. terrible in a crisis that I am...

No I went 'WHOOP!' twice (like the start of Victoria's theme of WWE), grabed my plate and ran up stairs and ate my food up there watching 'The X-Files'. My sister laughed and well I returned half an hour later, mum had dealt with it. My sister said that I had sounded like the start of the Victoria theme, and asked why I couldnt just shout Spider instead of making a stupid noise and running away.

There's a spider on my ceiling now, crawling my way.... I've tried to get it out the window, but I'm too short to reach it now... I was standing on my bed before trying to shift it. Everytime I look round over my shoulder it's closer....

Buffy Reunion

by the_real_linda @ Sunday, Mar. 23, 2008 - 20:45:36

The first question of the Q&A (of course) is: Would Joss and cast ever consider making a new Buffy movie? Joss casually replies, "Oh, I don't know," before turning to Sarah and asking, "Well, you wanna?" Sarah just smiles and says, "Eh, sure. Why the hell not." Half the crowd faints. The other half suffers a severe heart attack.

Asked about a Buffy Musical on Broadway, Joss didn't rule it out. Asked if they would participate, most of the panel indicated that they would. Sarah was not among them. She was more like, "No way," but laughingly.

Greenwalt revealed that shortly after word leaked that Willow was going to be coming out of the closet, he got a call from an unnamed WB exec who said, "Is [Joss] really going to do this gay thing?" Whedon threatened to quit when the network asked him to leave Willow and Tara's first kiss on the cutting-room floor. "It's the one time I pulled that out," he said. "And they were like, 'No, it's OK. Leave it in.'"

Sarah didn't know until someone told her tonight that Buffy's hooking up with a girl in the comic. Joss, on Buffy's temporary change of team: "They have a lot of time on their hands...What? None of you went to college?"

Sarah Michelle Gellar said she was surprised to find out moments before the reunion that her character recently had her first sexual tryst with a woman in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight," a comic book series that picks up where the show ended. Gellar also reminisced about auditioning 11 times before landing the role of Buffy Summers.

"All my friends felt sorry for me because I was on a midseason replacement on a network no one had heard of on a show based on a movie that wasn't all that," the 30-year-old actress said.

Asked about future Buffy TV or film projects, Whedon said, "My answer would be, like, there are so many stars that would have to align [for them to happen]. But, you know, there's a reason I worked with all of these people for so long. They're enormously talented. And clearly, from the comic, it's a story that I can't let go of. I think it would be really cool."

ON WHETHER BUFFY SHOULD BE WITH ANGEL OR SPIKE:
BRENDON: Given the comic book, I would say Willow.
GELLAR: I did not know about this until five minutes ago. Someone asked me, “how do you feel about Buffy's new relationship, she’s with a woman.” I said “she’s with Willow.” But it wasn’t Willow.

Amber Benson was asked why she declined returning to the show. At first she joked that she was having sex with Marlon Brando at the time and needed to be by his bedside during his last days. (Whoa.) Then she said that she was directing a project in London and just wasn't available.

Gellar said she had no idea until five minutes before the panel took the stage that Buffy had gotten it on with slayer Satsu in the latest comic book. Trachtenberg also had no idea what had happened to Dawn in the comic series. "If these guys were real nerds," Whedon said, "we wouldn't be having this conversation."

For any buffy fans!!! hope you Enjoy!!!

The Orphanage

Went to see 'The Orphanage' yesterday. Fantastic film, though i didn't think about halfway through that if it was an American film i don't think i would have liked it. Hmmm? Strange.

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/831/18772147w434hq80pb8.jpg

The cinema was packed, and i dont think all the people knew it was a subtitled film. Its not that i dont want to think the population of Newcastle dont watch subtitled films but two granger games toting charvers left halfway through shouting "See you later Bob!" as they did. DICKS!

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/2565/18772141w434hq80gl5.jpg

Martin wanted to stand up before it started and announce to all the groups of teenagers that its a spanish film, i just laughed. Lots of old grannies there aswell though, evened it out a bit. I love it when a cinema is packed out, not a kids film though as much, but with a horror sorta film the tension builds in the room and when we jump, we all jump and then there's that nervous laughter afterwards, love it!

http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/4007/18772142w434hq80qw8.jpg

There's a bit in it (no spoilers) where theres a shot of a staircase haeading down into darkness and some old woman behind us went "oh no!" and there was moans in the audience, on sevral occasions when we knew something was going to happen.

Go see it... really its a great watch, dont wait for dvd for this one.

Oh and HMV have 'Superman Returns 2-Disc' DVD in for £3. Which is cheaper than the 1-Disc edition. Strangeness indeedy!
