Mickey Rouke is going to be Randy "The Ram" Robinson in Darren Aronofsky's upcoming movie 'The Wrestler' (2009)

for more info on the character and how he is set up. Randy "The Ram" Robinson (Rourke) is a 1980s-era star pro wrestler who has become a burnt-out shell of his former self. After he has a heart attack during a small-time match, a doctor tells him he could die if he fights again. But the prospect of a rematch with his old nemesis the Ayatollah proves too tempting to resist, even if it means risking his life. You know the story already...

'Mortal Kombat'... oooh!

Fan of the games? The films? Mortal Kombat: Conquest? (well I am only for Kristann Loken)

The status of the film is that "...the Producers are working out their deals with the studio and arranging their financing", says the director.

If you search for the upcoming film on IMDB it has Christopher Lambert returning as Rayden, although Mink says casting hasn't begun yet. Shows what IMDB knows dont it...

Mink says the project isn't so much a sequel as it is a

"re-envisioning of the Mortal Kombat franchise from top to bottom. Todays audience is a savvy involved group so the film must be A plus plus in every area in order to capture the magic of the first film. It is taking the entire concept to the next level across the board in every area visual design, story, cast, FX, photography and most importantly the fighting scenes. The original Mortal Kombat game was born a child of many visual loves by the creators at midway so this latest version borrows heavily from that pioneering spirit and must be thought out and executed at the highest level in order for it succeed in today's market place. This is no overnight task."

Well thats a bit Rob Zombie saying a re-imagining... oh well... Im totally up for it and look forward to see how the project continues.

J.J Abrams 'Fringe'

by the_real_linda @ Friday, Feb. 08, 2008 - 13:41:57

Well I'm sure y'all know about J.J's next sci-fi tv project 'Fringe'... well now it's got its male lead, eventually.

Josh Jackson
 (remember him from 'Dawson's Creek'?
http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/331/240586vi6.jpg)
Well I sure do... big crush on him in my teen years.

The two-hour $10 million pilot(!), directed by Alex Graves, centers on FBI agent Olivia Warren (Anna Torv) who teams with Peter Bishop (Josh Jackson) and his estranged father, institutionalized scientist Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble), to confront the spread of unexplained phenomena.

Peter Bishop is a high-school dropout with an IQ of 190, who is trying to erase a gambling debt.

Filming on the Warner Bros. TV/Bad Robothttp://img169.imageshack.us/img169/5078/aliaslogoetc7vg0.png
produced "Fringe" is under way in Toronto. The pilot's cast also includes Blair Brown, Lance Reddick, Kirk Acevedo and Jasika Nicole.

I've got my fingers crossed that his new show will be up to the standards of 'Alias' and not 'Cloverfield' (pah!)

"Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me
Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me
There's no place I can be
Since I found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me..."

Dunno How 'Ben' Went

by the_real_linda @ Friday, Feb. 08, 2008 - 00:36:35

Well she came in from school saying that everyone sang quietly so she sang quietly... and her teacher wanted a loud singer... well good luck to her still for when she finds out if she got the solo.

The choir are also singing 'I Want You Back'

Loves the song! It's been on repeat and I cant stop dancing to it.

(See my previous post if you have no clue what I'm on about, lol http://the-real-linda.blog.co.uk/2008/02/06/ben_good_luck_sis~3689699)

If her teacher could only hear what my sister sings like at home, Geez! She's really loud... especially at 9pm. I don't know why she is at 9pm, but I could set my watch by her being hyper then.

I asked my mum if she would like it, just for one day, to be a musical (she hates musical, remember this is the woman who fast forwarded past 'colours of the wind'!) and she said "With you two everyday is a musical."

My grandad was up tonight and as he was leaving, he put on his mp3 player and was dancing and singing at the door... yep we didn't fall far from that tree.
