Right all I remember is that there is sunshine and the people were in a spacecraft blocking out the sun, right? Something like that, i mean they were pressing lots of buttons.
Any suggestions for films you want to here reviewed by a housewife, i like horror its my, erm whats the word? Well i like them a lot, oh and Jet Li films of course and that blond dude out of green wing (Rachel just told me its Julian-Rhind Tutt) and Alias, right you sorta know a bit about me. Ooh and I love 'Kiss' and 'AC/DC' and lots more but its too much to get into right now. If you want me to do any top ten lists... hehe... i miss the top ten lists on night owls.
Anyways back to 'sunshine', it was crap.
@ Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 – 15:07:19
somehow... i dunno i logged out and tried her username and then they sent one... frak knows.... she loves that someone agrees with her on 'sunshine' by the way...
I guess I'll get her to do a review on that... as you all know by now I can't review films as I don't think one persons opinion counts and I'm contradicting myself saying I hate critics if i go and do the same thing... not that movie news will stop or random rants on what I like... but not strictly reviews...
I hand that over to my mum....
So presenting my mum... or on here she wants to be called 'mrsjetli'
Yes she is truly, madly, deeply in love with Jet Li.
(Guess the name was self explanatory really, lol)
Right off to try and find out how to add a co-author.
@ Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 – 14:28:42
I'm trying to set up an account on here for my mother.
(she's gonna co-author my blog and do movie reviews... since she doesn't trust my opinions on films since i recommended 'sunshine' to her... anywhos...)
I did this aaaaages ago and I'm still waiting for a confirmation email.
So when you all signed up how long did it take for the email to come?
I can't remember...
Help!

STEPHENVILLE, Texas -
In this farming community where nightfall usually brings clear, starry skies, residents were abuzz over reported sightings of what many believed was a UFO.
The reported sightings captured national and international media attention from outlets like the Washington Post, NPR, CNN, the Larry King Show and Canada’s CBC News. The Larry King Show devoted an hour to people who have seen and investigated UFOs and a skeptic who tried to debunk their accounts.
Several dozen people—including a pilot, county constable and business owners—insisted they saw a large silent object with bright lights flying low and fast in the Texas town. Some reported seeing fighter jets chasing it.
“People wonder what in the world it is because this is the Bible Belt, and everyone is afraid it’s the end of times,” said Steve Allen, a freight company owner and pilot who said the object he saw last week was a mile long and half a mile wide. “It was positively, absolutely nothing from these parts.”
While federal officials insist there’s a logical explanation, locals swear that it was larger, quieter, faster and lower to the ground than an airplane. They also said the object’s lights changed configuration, unlike those of a plane. People in several towns who reported seeing it over several weeks have offered similar descriptions of the object.
Machinist Ricky Sorrells said friends made fun of him when he told them he saw a flat, metallic object hovering about 300 feet over a pasture behind his Dublin home. But he decided to come forward after reading similar accounts in the Stephenville Empire-Tribune.
“You hear about big bass or big buck in the area, but this is a different deal,” Mr. Sorrells said. “It feels good to hear that other people saw something, because that means I’m not crazy.”
Mr. Sorrells said he has seen the object several times. He said he watched it through his rifle’s telescopic lens and described it as very large and without seams, nuts or bolts.
Maj. Karl Lewis, a spokesman for the 301st Fighter Wing at the Joint Reserve Base Naval Air Station in Fort Worth, said no F-16s or other aircraft from his base were in the area the night of Jan. 8, when most people reported the sighting.
Maj. Lewis said the object may have been an illusion caused by two commercial airplanes. Lights from the aircraft would seem unusually bright and may appear orange from the setting sun.
“I’m 90 percent sure this was an airliner,” Maj. Lewis said. “With the sun’s angle, it can play tricks on you.”
Officials at the region’s two Air Force bases—Dyess in Abilene and Sheppard in Wichita Falls—also said none of their aircraft were in the area. The Air Force no longer investigates UFOs.
One man has offered a reward for a photograph or videotape of the mysterious object.
About 200 UFO sightings are reported each month, mostly in California, Colorado and Texas, according to the Mutual UFO Network, which came to check on the sightings in the 17,000-resident town of Stephenville.
Fourteen percent of Americans polled last year by The Associated Press and Ipsos say they have seen a UFO.
Erath County Constable Lee Roy Gaitan said that he first saw red glowing lights and then white flashing lights moving fast, but that even with binoculars could not see the object to which the lights were attached.
“I didn’t see a flying saucer and I don’t know what it was, but it wasn’t an airplane, and I’ve never seen anything like it,” Mr. Gaitan said. “I think it must be some kind of military craft—at least I hope it was.”
The Mutual UFO Network held a meeting Jan. 19 where 200 people shared stories about UFO sightings with dozens of people. According to Texas MUFON director Ken Cherry, the accounts from Stephenville are significant. “In an extremely small number of cases will we get a mass sighting like this,” he said Jan. 18 on Larry King Live.
It is the most significant mass sighting since Phoenix in 1997, which was reported by thousands of people, including former Gov. Fife Symington, he said.
“It is really sad, Larry, that, for example, an Air Force general said reports which could affect national security are not part of the Project Blue Book system. That’s a formal statement by an Air Force general. It led to the closing of the old Project Blue Book. You haven’t seen the press grab on to that one, the good cases, the ones that could affect national security. They’re the only ones we care about,” said Stanton Friedman, a UFO researcher. Project Blue Book was a United States Air Force program that studied UFOs. It started in 1952 and ended in 1970.
Larry King Live participant James Fox, maker of the documentary “Out of the Blue,” helped pull together a panel of high-ranking retired military officers, pilots and scientists for a November media event the National Press Club. The group called on the United States government to cooperate with other nations investigating unidentified flying objects and asked that the United States Air Force or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration research the phenomena. Gov. Symington moderated the press conference.
After a skeptic on the CNN program attributed different sightings to flares, slow flying planes in formation, natural lights and optical effects, and untrained observers whose ignorance and bias colored what they saw, Mr. Fox responded.
“If you’re out there somewhere, why can’t we just say, you know what, we don’t know what that was? Why can’t we just say that? Why do we have to find a prosaic explanation to every sighting that exists today? And why are all these qualified radar operators and pilots and high ranking military and government officials from all around the world, why does there have to be a conventional or prosaic explanation to each and every case? Why can’t we just shrug our shoulders and say we don’t know?” he asked.

Do ITV know that the show 'Raines' has been canceled and only got 7 aired episodes?

Probably not...
Especially since they showed 'Smith' last year which was cancelled.
They also showed 'The Black Donnellys' after it was announced that it was cancelled.
Really? No good shows out there to buy instead...
Buy 'Chuck'... or 'Dexter'... or 'Cashmere Mafia'... or 'Life'...
Or show Bionic Woman sometime... ANYTIME!!!!

Well i've just finished watching 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford' and well it's thoroughly depressed me.

I think its a good movie, very atmospheric and dark. If you've got a long Sunday afternoon to kill or a nice depressing quiet night in then i'd recommend it.

Both Casey Affleck (who I didnt expect much from, dont know why) and Brad Pitt are great... more Mary-Louise Parker would have been a plus... but I can go watch 'Weeds' if I want that.

Saw V Casting Digs Up Familiar Faces
Source: IGN, Bloody-Disgusting
January 25, 2008As the producers of the franchise have told us, you can't have a "Saw" film without Tobin Bell. So, with that said, word has trickled in via IGN and B-D that Bell is confirmed to return in Saw V. He'll be joined by Costas Mandylor and Scott Patterson as Detective Hoffman and FBI Agent Strahm, respectively.
David Hackl is stepping up his obligations to the "Saw" series as production designer and is sitting in the director's chair, too. Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton penned the script.
Shooting begins in Toronto on March 17th and is aiming for an October 24th release date.
from wikipedia... and lets soddin' hope not... I got a mini, small tradition going on with a 'Saw' film at halloween... yeah so it's only been a 4 year long tradition... so what?
"
Costas Mandylor has signed up for the next two installments in the horror franchise along with main character, Jigsaw, portrayed by Tobin Bell.It was confirmed through multiple sources that David Hackl, the production designer for Saw II, Saw III and Saw IV and second unit director for Saw III and Saw IV has officially been attached to direct both Saw V and Saw VI.
The writers of Saw IV, Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, will be writing Saw V and Saw VI. Saw V will be going into production after Christmas, and is set to be released on October 24, 2008. In an interview at IGN.com, Patrick Melton hinted that Saw V will reveal what happened to Corbett after Saw III.
Producer Mark Burg has stated he wants Scott Patterson to return as Agent Strahm but is difficult as he's doing a TV series.
On www.Photobucket.com there is the first four pages of SAW V saying that they will find Agent Strahm, Jigsaw, Jeff, Lynn, and Amanda which will be still alive from getting shot in the neck."

Thanks to an interim deal struck between the WGA and Lionsgate, writers for AMC's Mad Men and Showtime's Weeds are free to get back to work and start on scripts for Seasons 2 and 4, respectively. Of course, the possibility of a June SAG strike could dampen this good news, but....WGA West prez Patric M. Verrone issued a joint statement with his East Coast counterpart, Michael Winship, in response to the deal, saying "Lionsgate ... signing an interim agreement again confirms that it is possible for both writers to be compensated fairly and respectfully for their work and for companies to operate profitably."

(The longer the better)And so you dance around it. You draw it out. You tease towards love.
This is pure physical poetry, It's the thrill of communicating by give and take, the simple charm or tugging at another heart and waiting (hoping) for a response.
It's the improbably joyus celebration of going absolutely nowhere for a long, long time... all in the anticipation that you're actually on your way (slowly, tiptoe-ingly) to somewhere truly marvellous...Galaxy

Soon to be hot mom Jessica Alba talked to ComingSoon.net/Superhero Hype! on Wednesday about her upcoming films while promoting her new thriller, The Eye.
CS/SHH!: What can you tell us about your character in "Sin City 2"?
Jessica Alba: I haven't read a script. I don't know anything about it. Robert (Rodriguez) and Frank (Miller) haven't talked to me about it at all.CS/SHH!: How long until we get "Fantastic Four 3"?
Alba: I have no idea. I know the writers strike and the impending actors strike has kind of put a wrench in everything production wise. That film takes a lot of prep, a good six months of prep and about six months to shoot. With the strike, I think, maybe it's put on hold.CS/SHH!: Any thought into making "Dark Angel" into a film?
Alba: We've talked about it, I want to work with Jim so I would pretty much do anything he wants to do.CS/SHH!: In the "Fantastic Four" comics your character becomes a mother. Would you like to see that in the film?
Alba: Little Franklin? Yeah, I think that would be hilarious. He's so powerful, I think that would be a really interesting dynamic a mother-child dynamic. She's still a superhero but she's super protective and he's wild, he can do anything and has no sense of what's appropriate, that would be really fun.

This is quoted off of an e-mail i just got...

To all my loyal fans!I would like to talk about the strike [Hollywood writers guild], and how
frustrating it is for everyone who just wants to get
back to work. That being said, I do hope that the
writers get the rights that they deserve. So during
the strike I have taken the opportunity to delve into
my own work. My father and I are getting close to
solidifying the funds for my next film "Love Orchard",
written by my father, in which I will produce and
star. This film deals with the illegal immigration
crises we are having in this country. Love Orchard
follows the life of an immigrant family who faces
deportation of their youngest daughter who is 3. My
character tries the case on a national level, and
fights for the rights of the family and the little
girl.Next week My father and I will be traveling to
France for the Gerardmer International Film Festival
where I will be on the jury. We will then be headed to
Berlin where I will host a benefit for the MyLife
Project, to get kids of the street in South Africa.
This event is open to anyone who wants to support the
cause. For details go to www.travel-suedafrika.de and
contact Alicyn. During the Berlin Film Festival, I
will speak at the Cinema for Peace event, proceeds go
to UNICEF.Last and certainly not least, I would like
to make the first announcement of my engagement to
actor Noah Danby. We plan too marry in The Spring. In
the meantime, believe in and follow your dreams...
Thank-you for all your warm messages and continued support.
Kristanna

and congrats on the engagment to her former 'painkiller jane' co-star

USA Today has published these two new photos of David Duchovny as Special Agent Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson as Special Agent Dana Scully in Fox's The X Files 2.

The newspaper says the film will dump the long-running "mythology" plotline — that aliens live among us and are part of a colonizing effort.
"We spent a lot of time on (the mythology) and wrapped up a lot of threads" when the show went off the air in 2002, says Chris Carter, creator of the series and director of the new movie. "We want a stand-alone movie, not a mythology conspiracy one."

will play the rebellious Jacob, the 8-year-old stepson of scientist Helen Benson (Jennifer Connelly) who first makes contact with the humanoid alien Klaatu (Keanu Reeves).

"German director Uwe Boll will return to low-budget filmmaking now that his latest and biggest production, the $70 million fantasy epic In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, bombed at the box office.
The $3 million opening marked the third flop in a row for Boll, whose BloodRayne and Alone in the Dark also failed to deliver theatrically.
Reached at his home in Mainz, Boll said the results from "King" mean he will be unable to continue with big-budget productions.
"In the future, I will focus on small films such as (the video game adaptation) 'Postal' or (the Vietnam war drama) 'Tunnel Rats,' " he said. "These are films that represent my true passion, and they can be done with small budgets."
Despite a number of critical and commercial drubbings, Boll has been able to finance bigger budget films through German tax shelter funds. But "King" marked the last film to be bankrolled by his fund, which, like all similar tax shelters, has been banned in Germany.
Boll will now have to finance films the old-fashioned way -- with presales. Given the director's record, that could prove difficult.
The German director has also lined up a decidedly pulpy title for his next adaptation -- the video game shoot 'em up Zombie Massacre."
Not to stress a point or anything... and I'll watch that 'in the name of the king' because Kristanna Loken is in it... argh!

Altogether an excellent episode and good on donna and the chicken dance! nice costume!!!
if you didnt watch it, its repeated on BBC3 tonight at (erm let me just get the tv paper to check) 12.15am (i already rang my grandad this morning and told him to watch the repeat, i told him when i saw him yesterday to watch it but he reads too much and only watched the history channel or fraiser... he does watch random comedy shows on E4 etc in the middle of the night so before he left today when i saw him i told him to watch it too... i might ring him again later to remind him, lol)

Nu Image/Millennium Films and Lionsgate have announced a deal for Lionsgate to acquire North American distribution rights to the highly coveted film series 'Conan the Barbarian', based on Robert E. Howard's mythical conquering hero.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0816462/

(Nu Image/Millennium's Boaz Davidson and Joe Gatta are producing the film, along with Fredrick Malmberg of Paradox Entertainment, George Furla and Henry Winterstern. Executive producers include Nu Image's Dimbort, Short and Lerner. Production is slated to take place in Bulgaria in summer/fall 2008.)
"We could not be happier to be back in business with Lionsgate," said Dimbort. "They have done a phenomenal job with 'Rambo' and know how to release a high-profile property. 'Conan' is an amazing franchise and they will treat it in kind."

"We are delighted to join Nu Image/Millennium Films in bringing 'Conan the Barbarian' back to the big screen," said Constantine. "This is a character unlike any other in the action/adventure canon, with an unlimited potential for stories that are exciting and different. And given the production expertise and creativity of our friends at Nu Image/Millennium, this 'Conan' is sure to conquer."

X-men spin-off ' X-Men Origins: Wolverine' directed by Gavin Hood.
The lovely Michael C. Hall

(you might remember him from 'six feet under' as David, or as Dexter in umm well 'Dexter')is set to play 'Styker'
Liev Schreiber (Cotton from the 'Scream' trilogy,)

is playing 'Sabertooth' Victor Creed
(played by Michael Myers himself Tyler Mane in the X-Men trilogy)

It was thought he was going to be 'Stryker' but I guess he's been bumped up on the cast list.
The film is a prequel to the events of X-Men, "Wolverine" tells the story of Wolverine's violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe. I can't wait!

Scarlett Johansson http://www.scarlettjohansson.org/ has been cast as Mary Queen of Scots in the upcoming aptly titled 'Mary Queen of Scots'... wow they pushed the limits of imagination there with the title didnt they. ... to be directed by Phillip Noyce. Written by James McGovern, Melanie Johansson and Alexandra Milchan will produce. The film will shoot in London and Scotland.
(My ickle sister thinks Scarlett looks like an oversized egg)

She's also in a re-make, ugh there's that word again... of 'The Other Boleyn Girl' ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0467200/ ) which some may remember on the BBC a few years back staring Natascha McElhone and Jodhi May.. ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0357392/ )
Personally I don't have a problem with the way she looks...

Pushing Daisies- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0925266/
Dead Like Me- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0348913/

i just thought i mentioned this show briefly in my last post... (now personally I dont never get round to watching the good shows that are on itv... its just not the channel for good american shows, if 'jericho' had been on channel four i swear people would watch it...)
Well this show is worth watching, it goes along with the same type of theme as 'Dead Like Me'... buy the two box sets if you aint seen it yet,

Mandy Pantinkin as Rube, a reaper.(you might see him in 'criminal minds' before he left or if you can cast your mind back to 'the princess bride' where he played Inigo Montoya)
(dont worry the two shows dont follow one another just similar in feeling as both by bryan fuller)

Anyways back to 'Pushing Daisies'... The lead character Ned can bring the dead back to life... but only for a minute... any longer and someone else close by dies....

http://always-dreaming.net/chuck&ned/
...the first touch life, the second touch death...
@ Monday, Jan. 07, 2008 – 21:22:51

I think it starts pretty soon... January on ITV2...

(ITV have also picked up one of my favs 'pushing daisies' , from the man who brought you 'dead like me')
I've seen promos for bionic woman on the tv and its been advertised in this weeks tv guide.

Personally I love the character of Sara Corvus (the lovely well scary and sexy Katee Sackhoff of battlestar galactica's starbuck fame)

Shame she is only in first 4 episodes or something like that... she hasnt quit the show and will be back for when the series carries on from the episode 8 break.
Ive had a gander and cant find a precise date...
Sorry... will the trailer do for now?

yep old franky is getting re-worked again... but by nobody better than guillermo del toro (Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth).

Yep sound good? Firstly on MTV he said ""the only way to do the Shelley novel is to actually do a four-hour miniseries." He added a "but" shortly after saying that, leading us to think he still has a feature film in mind. I dunno what I would like better, but I think with his style he could really pull either off.

Apparently he is considering combining elements of "Frankenstein" and "Bride of Frankenstein" into a single movie. Sounds even better!

Well it didn't do to bad for itself a the Box Office here an dover the pond ($332.1 million worldwide) The book's author, Richard Matheson, has signed off on sequel rights.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Matheson

This is not a definate green light on a sequel just its open to if they want, and come on sequels are all about money... and hollywoods a buisness so stay tuned. If Warner Bro's go ahead it will be the first time this book has spun a sequel.
Does anyone think 'I Am Legend' can hold up in a sequel and where would it go?
@ Sunday, Jan. 06, 2008 – 16:32:47
Who should be Superman in JLA (yep thats the Justice League of America to anyone who don't know)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justice_League
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Justice_League_members
It's looking as if Brandon Routh wont be returning for Superman Returns Sequel along with Bryan Singer being...

as of Jan 5th it looked like he was going to be, but you just never know with movies...
Personally I think they should give Tom Welling a go at it...

From Anne Thompson over at 'Variety'
So it seems whomever is cast in JLA wil continue the role of superman in the Superman Returns sequel.

Well I can stop thinking about him anyways, the bloomin' annoying essay is finished. I'm going in uni on monday to transfer my animation onto something or other so it can be marked and I guess I'll go and hand in my essay then too although I don't think its due in until tuesday. Well this is a mark up over last years where I.. hang on no I took the same time and handed it in a day early last time... though it was far more enjoyable to write as it was on 'Night Of The Living Dead' so I just had that DVD on repeat instead of hearing Michael Moore's voice... which really grates my cheese now.
And I got it all done with the help of all you guys out there, especially jackfrost who told me to turn my tv off (although I was watching Power Rangers on the computer, just in an itsy bitsy skin mode of some kind in the corner as I wrote...)
and I got it all done when my grandad took my sister out to see 'The Golden Compass'... my sister really didnt want to see it but i'd taken her to see everything else already... plus my grandad had read the books (not that he could remember reading them, long term memory loss or the fact that he always has 3 or 4 books on the go at once.) plus the fact that he fell asleep during it didnt help in him not knowing what was going on with some magic dust... yeah I have no idea either.
So that's done and dusted... Hoo Rah!
