Akira

Yep the anime we all (mostly) know and love... (I do thanks to Dan... so thank you Dan) has gotten a director for its Live Action Re-make. 29-year-old Oscar nominated Irish director Ruairi Robinson has been picked by Warner Bros. Pictures in an attempt to get the project off the ground. This was done before the strike and no new news has revealed itself but here's hoping this isnt a project that has been dumped or put waaaayyyyyyy back like some.
Since we found out about the Live Action remake back in July of 2003 that James Robinson would pen the adaptation with director Steven Norrington, I'm hoping it'll still go ahead.
I'm hopeful for a re-make but it's false hope and I dont like re-makes so i will moan about this but if the re-make gets more people to watch the 1988 film

or even read the original mangas...![]()

then all's sorta good... right?
You can watch 'The Silent City', a short film by Ruairi Robinson here-http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/bdtv/1363
to see if you think he's got the stuff to make it.
(this is just for Dan-
.
.. some things I just don't forget.
